A few minutes

Online or on the phone. You leave your name and a number to reach you. Nothing detailed, and nothing you would rather say out loud.

A short phone intake

10 to 15 minutes, within one business day

We find you the right provider, check your AHCCCS plan if you have one, and tell you the dollar amount you will owe before anything is final.

Your first session

60 minutes · usually within 3 to 5 business days

Mostly listening. You talk through what brought you in, what you have already tried, and what you want to be different.

Questions

The six things people actually ask

Have a question that is not here? Call (480) 637-0295 and ask. You do not have to book anything to get an answer.

What does a first appointment cost?

We tell you the dollar amount on the phone before anything is final. Paying yourself, therapy is $75 to $150 a session, and a psychiatric evaluation is $300. A sliding scale is available. With AHCCCS, your visits cost you nothing. If you are paying yourself, you also get a Good Faith Estimate in writing.

How long is the wait?

Typically 3 to 5 business days for both therapy and psychiatric evaluations. On the intake call you get an actual date, not a range.

What actually happens at the first appointment?

You sit down, and your clinician asks what brought you in. Then your history, your sleep, your work, who is around you, what you have tried. You can stop at any point, and you are never asked to start with the hardest thing.

Do you take my insurance?

We take AHCCCS, and your visits cost you nothing. We accept all six AHCCCS Complete Care plans in Maricopa County: Arizona Complete Health–Complete Care Plan, Banner–University Family Care, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Health Choice, Mercy Care, Molina Healthcare and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan. We can also see you if you are on AHCCCS fee-for-service without a health plan, or with the American Indian Health Program, Tribal ALTCS or a Tribal RBHA. If you are with a different AHCCCS program, call and we will tell you right away whether we can see you. We are not in network with commercial insurance. If you have it, you can pay yourself, and we give you a superbill to send your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. See insurance and cost

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No. You can book directly. Some insurance plans require a referral for their own reasons, and we check that for you on the intake call so you are not caught out later.

Who can see my records?

Your clinician and the staff who handle your billing. Nobody else sees them without your written permission, including your employer and your family. The only exceptions are the narrow ones the law sets, such as sending a claim to your AHCCCS plan, and our Notice of Privacy Practices lists every one.

The hardest part is starting. The rest we walk you through.

A few minutes now, a short phone call within one business day, and a confirmed date on the calendar. You will know what it costs before you commit to anything.
