Telehealth anywhere in Arizona

Therapy and follow-up visits by video, from wherever you are, as long as you are in Arizona that day. Same clinician, same hour, same rate.

Where.
Anywhere in Arizona.
Cost.
The same as in person. No telehealth surcharge.
Evaluations.
In person at our Tempe office.

What can be done by video

Individual therapy, and medication management follow-ups. Both work well remotely and plenty of our patients never come to the office at all.

Psychiatric evaluations are in person. That first appointment is the one where an assessment is being made, and it is better done in a room.

Your clinician may also ask you to come in for a particular visit. If so they will say why rather than leaving you to wonder.

What you need

  • A phone, tablet or computer with a camera
  • An internet connection good enough for video. If it drops, your clinician will call your phone and carry on.
  • To be physically in Arizona at the time of the appointment. This is a licensing rule, not a preference.
  • Somewhere you can speak without being overheard. That is often the hard one.

You will get a link before your appointment. There is nothing to install and no account to create.

On finding somewhere private

This is the most common practical problem and it is worth planning rather than improvising. People take sessions in a parked car, on a lunch break in an empty meeting room, in a bedroom with a white-noise app outside the door, with headphones in.

If there is genuinely nowhere, say so. We would rather book you into the Tempe office than have you spend the hour worrying about who can hear.

Privacy and the platform

Video visits run on the platform inside our client portal, which is operated under a business associate agreement with us. Sessions are not recorded. What you say in a video appointment is protected exactly as it is in the office, under the same state and federal rules set out in our Notice of Privacy Practices.

Questions people ask

Is it as good as being in the room?
For therapy, the research says broadly yes, and most people stop noticing after a session or two. If it is not working for you, say so and we will move you into the office.
Can I do my evaluation by video?
No. Evaluations are in person at our Tempe office.
What if I am out of state that day?
We would need to reschedule. Your clinician is licensed in Arizona and you have to be in Arizona for the appointment.
Does it cost less?
No, and it does not cost more. Same rate as in person.
What if my connection drops?
Your clinician will call your phone and you finish the session that way.
Is it recorded?
No.
What if I need to cancel?
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancelling with less than 24 hours' notice, or not showing up at all, is a $100 fee. You also get a 15-minute grace period: if you have not arrived or joined by then, your clinician may mark it a no-show. Emergencies and genuinely unusual circumstances are handled case by case.
