Getting here from Mesa
Broadway Road runs straight through Mesa and into Tempe without a single turn. Keep going west past Price Road, McClintock Drive and Rural Road, and our office is just after Rural, at 605 East Broadway Road. From downtown Mesa that is about six miles and 15 minutes outside of rush hour. Dobson Ranch and the Fiesta District are closer, four or five miles. East Mesa, Red Mountain, Las Sendas and Eastmark are 15 to 20 miles out, 25 to 35 minutes, and from there video is often the better choice for the regular hour.
Routes from Mesa:
- Broadway Road west, all the way. No freeway needed.
- Main Street west, which becomes Apache Boulevard in Tempe, then south on Rural Road half a mile to Broadway Road.
- US-60 west to the Rural Road exit, then north about a mile and a half.
- By light rail: Valley Metro Rail runs along Main Street in Mesa and Apache Boulevard in Tempe. The Tempe stops on Apache Boulevard are about a mile from the office.
Free parking on site, including accessible spaces, and the walk from the parking area to the waiting room is step-free.
In person or by video from Mesa
Mesa is close enough that the choice is a real one. Here is what can be done from your living room and what happens in Tempe.
By video, from home in Mesa
- Individual therapy, 60 minutes, the same therapist every week, with the office available any time you would rather come in.
- Couples therapy, provided both of you are in Arizona during the session.
- A psychiatric evaluation, the same 60 minutes with the same board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner as in the office, and most follow-ups after it.
- The free 15-minute consultation, which is always by video.
In person, in Tempe
- The Intensive Outpatient Program: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, three hours a day, with a morning track and an evening track. The Partial Hospitalization Program is in person too.
- Group therapy, six to eight people in the room each week.
- Any visit your clinician needs to do face to face. Some medication decisions and some parts of trauma therapy are made in person; your clinician tells you which, and when.
Because the drive is short, in person for the regular hour is a realistic default from most of Mesa, with video for the days that get away from you. Both work, and nothing locks you into either.
Who we see from Mesa
Adults 18 and over. PATH does not see children or teenagers.
From Mesa, as from everywhere, the calls are mostly about anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, OCD, grief, the first year after a baby (postpartum changes), and whether adult ADHD or bipolar disorder is the thing underneath a long pattern. You do not need a diagnosis to start; you need an hour.
Mesa is also the closest large city to our Intensive Outpatient Program, which meets in person in Tempe three days a week, mornings or evenings, for adults who need more support than one therapy hour a week right now. From west and central Mesa it is a short drive, and Broadway Road takes you straight there.
Insurance and cost for Mesa patients
We accept Aetna, Cigna, Carelon Behavioral Health and Curative for individual therapy, couples therapy, psychiatric evaluations and medication management. Those four plans cover the outpatient services, not the IOP or the PHP; the IOP page explains how the program is paid for.
Every self-pay price is on the insurance and pricing page, with a sliding scale for financial hardship. If your plan is not one of the four, you pay our rate and we give you a superbill to send in, and your plan may pay you back for part of it. How out-of-network benefits work.
Start with the free 15-minute video consultation. Our front desk talks you through cost and next steps, you choose the time, and you are not committed to anything by taking it.

Do I have to drive to Tempe?
No, although from most of Mesa it is a short drive. Therapy, couples therapy, psychiatric evaluations and most medication follow-ups can be by video. The IOP, the PHP and group therapy meet in person.
Can I use Curative if I live in Mesa?
Yes. We accept Curative, along with Aetna, Cigna and Carelon Behavioral Health, for individual therapy, couples therapy, psychiatric evaluations and medication management, by video or in person. You pay your plan's normal copay or coinsurance, and we check your coverage on the free consultation.
Is the IOP close enough to attend from Mesa?
From west and central Mesa, yes. The program meets in person at the Tempe office three days a week, with a morning track and an evening track, and Broadway Road brings you straight there. East Mesa is a 25 to 35 minute drive. The weekly one-on-one session that comes with the IOP can be by video.
How soon can I be seen?
Three to five business days is typical, for therapy and for a psychiatric evaluation, and the free consultation gives you an actual date.
Do you see teenagers or children?
